Old Growth
This series celebrates the majesty and resilience of primeval wilderness. Epstein photographs ancient forests in remote regions of the U.S., where ninety-five percent of old growth forests have been destroyed. Through images of individual trees and interdependent biosystems (bristlecone pines, bald cypresses, eastern white pines, cedars, sequoias, Pando…), Old Growth suggests the promise of the future as well as the tragic losses due to reckless logging and unmitigated climate change.
